If you want to really have some fun this summer, don’t miss out on the second annual Lake Count-I-Con comic book, retro toy, game and art expo held in the 65,000-square-foot Lake County Fairgrounds facility.
Deemed to be the largest of its kind in Lake County, more than 500 vendors are expected. Scheduled are cosplay contests – dress as your favorite comic book character or superhero, table top gaming, a cosplay pet costume contest, original art, movie memorabilia, comic book artist greetings, tournaments and demonstrations for board games, video games and card games, food and beer, and more than 30 guests, workshops, speakers, and family events.
Panelist James Renner, an author and cold case investigator, will discuss his novels and his investigation of the Midwest’s coldest cases.
The event will be held both Saturday August 29 and Sunday August 30 from noon to 6 p.m. Cost for entry is $5; children under 12 and active members of the military are free. Parking is free. Call 224.440.2100 for more information or visit www.conticon.com. Lake County Fairgrounds is at 1060 E. Peterson Road in Grayslake. – Tina Johansson
