The City of North Chicago is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for an upcoming class of the highly acclaimed Citizens Police Academy.
The Citizens Police Academy is an eleven week program open to North Chicago residents and is designed to give participants a working knowledge of the North Chicago Police Department. There is no cost to attend, but class size is limited to 20 students.
The Academy is scheduled to begin Thursday, September 10 from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Classes meet once each week on Thursday evenings. Citizens Academy classes include an interesting mix of classroom presentations, demonstrations, and hands on activities including patrol procedures, criminal investigations, evidence technician duties and more.
