The Waukegan Park District has Valentine events and activities for every age.
On Friday Feb. 12 at the Belvidere Recreation Center, the Annual Special Recreation Services of Northern Lake County Valentine Dance will take place from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Registration for the event is through the Special Recreation Association. The event draws individuals with special needs and disabilities from Waukegan, Lindenhurst, Round Lake, and Zion. Other Chicagoland Special Recreation Associations are also invited.
Then on Saturday Feb. 13 from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. a Bonnie Brook Valentine Dinner Buffet will be served. Featured will be live entertainment by Sipos and Young. There will be an all-you-can-eat carved prime rib and filet table. Other favorites included BBQ ribs, peel and eat shrimp, baked Atlantic salmon and more as well as appetizers, soup and salad bar and dessert table. Cost per person is $22.95 for adults, $9 for ages 6-12, and free for children 5 and under. Reservations are necessary. Please call 847-360-4730, option 3.
The following weekend on Friday Feb. 19 you will want to dance the night away at the annual Mother Son Sweetheart Dance; or the annual Father/Daughter Date Night on Saturday Feb. 20. Both events are for parents and children 13 and under. They each take place at the Belvidere Recreation Center, 412 South Lewis Avenue, from 7 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. Cost per person is $15 for residents and $18 for non-residents and includes dinner, live DJ and complimentary photograph.
