Waukegan Public Schools will operate under a delayed start schedule tomorrow, Tuesday, March 1, as a result of high snowfall predictions for the morning hours. During a delayed start all schools begin classes approximately two hours later than normal, and dismiss at their regular times.
The delayed start affects all staff members, except custodial and maintenance employees, who are asked to report to work at normal times. All other staff should report two hours late.
The schedule for a late start is as follows:
All EPIC preschool classes are canceled.
All AM kindergarten classes are canceled.
Early-start elementary schools (Carman-Buckner, Cooke, Glen Flora, Greenwood, Lyon, Hyde Park, North and Whittier) will begin at 10:30 a.m. and dismiss at 3:03 p.m. PM Kindergarten at these schools will begin at 12:28 p.m.
Late-start elementary schools (Clark, Clearview, Glenwood, Little Fort, McCall and Oakdale) will begin at 11:15 a.m. and dismiss at 3:48 p.m. PM kindergarten at these schools will begin at 12:49 p.m.
Washington Elementary will begin at 11:05 a.m. and dismiss at 3:48 p.m. PM kindergarten will begin at 12:49 p.m.
All middle schools will begin at 9:20 a.m. and dismiss at 2:15 p.m.
Waukegan High School will begin at 10 a.m. and dismiss at 3:10 p.m. There will be no Zero Period.
AOEC early shift and middle shift will go from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The AOEC late shift will go from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
