Grayslake H.S. graduate is RL Area Exchange Club Hometown Hero

The Round Lake Area Exchange Club and sponsor, Dr. Connie Collins, superintendent of District 116 are proud to announce the March Hometown Hero, U.S. Airman First Class Alex Newman of Hainesville. He was registered for this honor by his father Ted Newman also from Hainesville.

Newman is a 2015 graduate of Grayslake Central High School and  has been serving in the Air Force for one year, he is in Security Forces. He has been awarded the Air Force Training Ribbon and the National Defense Service Medal.

Dr. Collins is this months sponsor of Newman’s “Hanging with the Heroes” care package which includes treats of all kinds, a piece of home, letters from District 116 students, and a personalized “Hanging with the Heroes” t-shirt (donated by Artrageous of Hainesville). The exchange club also presented a plaque on his behalf.

The Round Lake Area Exchange Club needs your help in getting our local heroes signed up. Any and all military personnel serving overseas or in the USA from any of the Round Lake Areas, Hainesville, Fox Lake, Ingleside or surrounding areas qualify for the program. You can register your loved ones in less than five minutes by going to www.rlaexchange.org/hero.
