Lake County Marine Corps League to Honor Departed Marines On Memorial Day

All are invited to attend a special Memorial Day event featuring a salute by the Lake County Marine Corps League Detachment 801.

Twenty departed Marines from the organization who have gone to their final resting place, and now guarding the gates of heaven, will be honored on Memorial Day, May 30 at the Lindenhurst VFW, 2301 E. Sand Lake Road, Lindenhurst

An Honor Guard and fellow members of the Marine Corps League Detachment will assemble at 12:30 p.m.  Names of the departed Detachment brothers will be read, a rifle volley fired and Taps played in their memory. All family members, all Veterans and the public are welcome to attend.

The Marine Corps League is a Veterans organization comprised of Marines, past and present, and Navy Corpsmen who are serving or have served with the Marine Fleet Force.  MCL Detachment 801, with  its155 members, meets the third Monday of each month at Primo Restaurant (lower level) in Gurnee at 7 p.m. There is a social time starting at 6:30 p.m.
