The Round Lake Area Exchange Club and long time sponsor, Collision Solution, are proud to announce the May Hometown Hero, U.S. Army Private First Class Shauna Horst of Round Lake. She was registered for this honor by family friend, Rodney Bleim of Round Lake Beach.

Horst is a 2014 graduate of Round Lake Senior High School, currently serving in Texas. She is a wheel mechanic and will be home this spring for her brother’s graduation. “She was up for ‘Soldier of the month for May,’ but withdrew her name as she would not be at her brother’s graduation,” according to Bleim.

Collision Solution is this month’s sponsor for Horst’s “Hanging with the Heroes” care package which includes some of her favorite snacks, as well as a “Hanging with the Heroes” T-shirt, donated by Artrageous of Hainesville; a piece of home, and letters from Round Lake School District 116 students. The Round Lake Area Exchange Club will present a plaque on her behalf May 25.
