The Full Score Chamber Orchestra promises an evening of entertainment with patriotic music, swinging pop and all that jazz at 7 p.m., Thursday, June 30 at the Zion bandshell , 2400 Dowie Memorial Drive.

“It’s our 12th annual pre-celebration of the 4th of July and we want to celebrate with music the freedom we enjoy in America,” said Ron Arden, director and conductor of the 50-member orchestra based in Zion.
“We will also pay tribute to the fallen victims in Orlando with a surprise number,” he added.
The program of the free concert entitled “American Salute” will include Blue Tango by Leroy Anderson, Blue Moon by Rogers and Hart, Blue Fire Fiddler by Soon Hee Newbold, Armed Forces Salute, Stars and Stripes by Sousa, Buckaroo Holiday by Copland, That’s Entertainment arranged by Ian Polster, Pomp and Circumstance March 1 by Elgar, Washington Post by Sousa, Liberty Bell by Sousa and 1812 Overture by Tchaikovsky.
“Bring a blanket with you and some food so that you can enjoy the evening outdoors under the stars ,” said Arden.
In case of rain, the concert will be held at the nearby Grace Missionary Church, 1415 27th Street. Last year the concert, held outdoors, attracted more than 400 people.
