Gurnee Welcomes Back Largest Smash Bros Gaming Tournament in the state
The waterpark tournament, Smash’N’Splash, is back for round two and will be making waves this weekend at KeyLime Cove Indoor Waterpark Resort in Gurnee on June 11 and June 12.
“This year, Smash’N’Splash is going to be bigger and better than ever,” said Josh Weber, event organizer.
In 2015, Smash’N’Splash earned its title as the largest Smash Bros video game tournament of the year in Illinois. It took the gaming world by storm. This year, Smash’N’Splash intends on keeping that title because the sold out event is expected to draw more than 800 unique attendees, and more than 20 professional Smash Bros players.
“We have representatives from every state and four countries attending Smash’N’Splash,” said Josh Weber, Smash’N’Splash organizer.

Smash’N’Splash is one of the most unique and memorable gaming events of the year. The tournament takes hundreds of Smash Bros players and unites them under one roof, amidst a tropical getaway, for a two day gaming experience unlike any other. This is unique to Smash’N’Splash and is one of the reasons why many of its attendees call it “the Vacation Tournament” and deem it an “unforgettable experience”.
“You never forget the waterpark tournament,” said Jack Kenney, a sponsored SSB player.
