A 24-year-old Wadsworth man whom the Lake County Sheriff’s Office identified as a known street gang member has been arrested on drug charges.
His arrest followed a month-long investigation by the LCSO Gang Task Force in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Department of Homeland Security.
Zachary S. Moore of the 2500 block of North Augusta Drive in the north suburb was arrested on Thursday after sheriff’s deputies went to his residence on a search warrant and found 60 grams of heroin and over $10,000 in cash. The money is believed to be profits from the sale of drugs. Deputies also seized equipment they say was used for drug selling.
Moore was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held in the Lake County Jail on a $200,000 bond. He has a hearing set for Aug. 15 in Lake County Circuit Court.
