In honor of its decade of service to the community North Shore Health Center (NSHC) received a gift of $9,000 from donations collected by Friends for Health (FFH).

Friends for Health hosted a private event at the medical and dental facility where it received the generous donations. Donors also gave during an online auction featuring items donated by local businesses. Monies raised will support NSHC’s specialty care services such as colon cancer screenings, diagnostic testing, retinal screenings for diabetics, mammograms, ultrasounds and oral surgery.

Approximately 100 guests were in attendance at the event, including Tim Sashko, President of the Lake County Board of Health; Daniel Pierce, former mayor of the City of Highland Park; Jim Styer, chair of the Healthcare Foundation of Highland Park; and Alyson M. Feiger, supervisor of the West Deerfield Township.

“We’re extremely thankful to the community for their generosity in supporting Friends for Health and the North Shore Health Center,” said Holly Kerr, chair of the board at Friends for Health. “We’re proud to have served the community for the past 10 years and we hope we can continue to make a difference in providing affordable, quality health care for all in the years to come.”
