Saturday, September 17 from 1–5 p.m. Downtown Highwood
Participants are invited to visit more than 20 businesses throughout downtown Highwood to sample a variety of beer and wine at each stop, browse the shops and businesses, and meet the owners.
“Highwood has a tremendous variety of businesses in our downtown business district. This event is a perfect way to showcase them and promote our chamber members,” said Julie Brugioni, President of the Highwood Chamber of Commerce. “We are so excited to bring many people into town for the Wine & Beer Walk which will be a ton of fun and help instill the importance of community.”
Highwood businesses will open their doors, allowing participants to experience all that the city has to offer. Each business will be offering 4 ounce pours of a select wine and beer, along with special offers.
Businesses in the Wine & Beer Walk include: The Art of Beer, Ballaro, Barrel Crossing, Blow by Blow, Cellar Gate Wine Market & Bistro, Diambri & Caravello, Disotto, Gingers, Highwood Public Library, McMahon Art Gallery, Pastificio, Santi’s Garden, Skokie Valley Laundry, Studio226 Media, Teddy O’Brian’s, The Humble Pub, The Lazarus Pit Comics, The Toadstool Pub, Seasons440, Vape312, Wooden Nickel.
The public is invited to register early for $30, which includes commemorative glass, goodie bag, and beer and wine tasting at more than twenty merchants. Tickets go up to $35 day of the event. Space is limited and tickets are nonrefundable. Tickets can be purchased online HERE or at any of the participating businesses in advance.
Day of registration and registered participants can pick up their commemorative glass and map with designated stops at the Chamber registration table starting at noon-2pm in front of Highwood City Hall, 17 Highwood Avenue. Businesses will be open for the Wine & Beer Walk starting at 1 to 5 p.m.
Highwood is a stop on the Union Pacific North Metra line and is surrounded by businesses participating in the event. The Metra is a convenient way for participants to attend the event.
