Kiwanis Peanut Days Friday & Saturday

Look for familiar faces in front of local grocery stores this weekend as we celebrate Kiwanis Peanut Days. Members of the Kiwanis Club of Zion-Benton will be collecting donations in exchange for peanuts.

Peanut Days is one of the club’s major fundraisers, which helps to support community organizations that focus on serving children in the Beach Park, Winthrop Harbor, and Zion areas.

The Kiwanis Club of Zion-Benton also recognizes ZBTHS students of the month and provides six scholarships to graduating students.

Some of the organizations that benefit from Kiwanis projects are: ACE Hardware Children’s Miracle Network; Beach Park Youth; Boy Scout Troop 663; Boys and Girls Club of Lake County, Zion-Benton Unit; Child Evangelism Fellowship; Coalition for Healthy Communities; Cory’s Project; Dolphins Swim Team; Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association; Jr. Zion-Benton Youth Football; Key Club at ZBTHS; Kiwanis International Eliminate Project; Love, INC.; Midwest Therapeutic Riding Center; Northpointe Resources, Inc.; Our Lady of Humility Youth Ministry; Spastic Paralysis Research Foundation; Special Recreation Service Northern Lake County; State (Boys & Girls) American Legion Leadership Program; Winthrop Harbor Recreational Department; Zion-Benton Children’s Services; Zion-Benton Public Library’s Partners in Reading; Zion-Benton Township High School Honors Banquet; Zion Baron Baseball; Zion Historical Society; and Zion Park District Little League.
