This evening from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., independent salon owners in Highland Park will be hosting “Winter is Coming,” an event for National Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

The free evening of pampering, food and wine offered Oct. 24 by Salons by JC of Highland Park.  will benefit A Safe Place, the leading advocate for eliminating domestic violence in northern Illinois.

Salon owners will open their suites to provide complimentary beauty services for both men and women including: hair styling, massages, eyelash tinting, eyebrow/lip wax, make-up consultations and more.

Along with appetizers and wine, attendees will receive swag bags (for the first 50 guests), free raffles, experience Chinese face readings by Marla Goldberg Energy Healer Au Fait, and peruse pop up stores featuring apparel, anti-aging skin care products and other unique items available for purchase. The evening continues with music and mini presentations from beauty experts with tips on how to protect your hair, skin and body for Chicago’s inevitably harsh winters.

Attendees are encouraged to bring one or more new or unopened beauty items to donate to A Safe Place tonight and throughout the month of October.
