Police Search for Waukegan Homicide Suspect

Waukegan Police were in route to a call of shots fired Sunday evening when another call came in about a shooting victim lying in the street.

It was about 8:30 p.m. Oct. 23 when police responded to the calls in the area of the 1500 block of 11th Street.

The possible suspect is described as a black male, in his late teens or early 20s, with dreadlocks. He had on dark clothing and left the area on foot.Waukegan Police

The victim, Michael Q. Sierra, 23-years-old, of the 10000 block of Wyer Street in Beach Park was transported to Vista Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Detectives from the Waukegan Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division were called in to investigate the apparent homicide.  At this time detectives believe it was a consensual encounter that escalated into the shooting, according to reports.

Detectives are searching for a possible suspect. He is described as a black male in his late teens or early twenties.  He has dreadlocks, and was last seen with a dark colored winter coat.  The possible suspect was last seen leaving the area on foot.
