A classic family holiday treat would be to get out and visit Antioch’s PM&L Theatre where you can see the enjoyable annual production of “A Christmas Carol.”

To recap the famous piece which came out of Charles Dickens’ 1843 Novella “A Christmas Carol in Prose, Being a Ghost-Story of Christmas,” Ebenezer Scrooge, an old, bitter miser, eventually becomes a kinder, gentler soul.

But not before being scared out of his wits from visits by three ghosts: Christmas Past, Present, and Yet to Come.

The play is adapted and directed by Rebecca Zellar.

A longtime actor and volunteer with PM&L, Dean Griffiths of Lake Villa has won the celebrated part, and will portray Scrooge.

Performances are at 8 p.m. on Dec. 2, 3, 9, 10, 16 & 17. Visit pmltheatre.com to purchase tickets. Prices are $10/$13/$15.
