An art show featuring local artists will be held 1 – 5 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 11 at the Only Child Brewing Co., 1350 Tri-State Parkway, Gurnee.
The show will include paintings and crafts by local artists as well as some from Chicago, according to taproom manager Charolette. There will also be live body painting. This will be the second annual event. Last year it drew about 200 people.
The brewery which makes craft beer was founded four years ago by husband-wife team Ben and Amanda Rossi. Ben is a graduate of Grayslake High School, who worked as buyer for several taverns in Chicago.
“He has a passion for making beer,” said Charolette, pointing out that he named his business Only Child Brewing Co. because ”he is the only child in the family.”
The company was in Northbrook before it moved to Gurnee about 15 months ago. The 1,800-square-foot facility in Gurnee includes the brewery and a taproom with bar where several kinds of beer are available on tap.
The company makes more than a dozen kinds of beer with some sold to restaurants. The Jewel store carries some of its products, according to Charolette.
