Police Busy Dealing with Armed Robberies during the Holiday Season

Four armed robberies occurred between Wednesday night on Dec. 21 and Thursday afternoon on Dec. 22, leaving two victims with injuries, according to Waukegan Police.
On Wednesday, Dec. 21, at about 9 p.m., a pizza delivery driver was robbed in the 700 block of Linden Avenue by a two black men. One suspect, the victim told police, struck him on the head with a gun. He suffered minor injuries. The robbers fled on foot with undisclosed amount of money.
At 11:15 p.m. on the same day, the Murphy gas station at Fountain Square was robbed by a black man wearing a scarf round and his neck who displayed a black handgun. The robber took money and some merchandise before fleeing on foot, the clerk told police.

Later at 11:35 p.m. on Dec. 21 in the 500 block of North County Street in downtown Waukegan, a man told police he was attacked from behind by two men, one armed with a handgun, and was robbed. He was taken to a hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and released.
The Travel Lodge in the 3600 block of Lewis Avenue was robbed at about 2:25 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 22, when a robber, described as a white man, entered the motel and displayed a knife to the clerk. He fled in a two-door silver pickup truck with an undisclosed amount of money and property.
