Alleged Shooter of Libertyville Man Charged with First Degree Murder

The Lake County Major Crime Task Force  announced it has made an arrest in the case of a man found dead in his car in Libertyville  on Dec. 23.

Kenneth S. Seplak, 37, of Round Lake Beach has been arrested and charged with first degree murder for allegedly being involved in the death of a David Gorski who was found in a car, at the dimly-lit Hollister Road location housing industrial buildings. 

The victim, David Gorski, 30, of Libertyville, suffered a single gunshot wound, according to the Christmas Day autopsy performed by Lake County coroner Dr. Howard Cooper. Police were called to the scene where they found the victim slumped over in a dark colored Volkswagen Jetta.

The coroner ruled the death a homicide and reported that the bullet that hit Gorski had traveled through his right arm into his chest. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Advocate Condell Medical Center where he was transported by firefighters and paramedics.

It is still unclear whether the shots came from inside or outside the car where the man was found.

Seplak has a court date of Dec. 28 at the Lake County courthouse in Waukegan.
