A death investigation is being conducted by Lake County Sheriff’s Office of a woman found dead Friday, Dec. 2, in Sylvan Lake in unincorporated Mundelein.
The body of the woman, described as Asian in her 40s or 50s, was found floating in the lake by a jogger at about 8 a.m. He told deputies that he saw something floating in the lake and, looking closer, he realized it was a person.
He ran into a nearby house and called 911. When deputies arrived, they found it was the body of woman, about five feet three inches or five feet five inches tall, weighing between 120 and 130 pounds. She was wearing a purple long-sleeve shirt, black spandex-type pants and a grey skirt.
The body was found in that part of the lake in the 26000 block of North Highland Avenue, according to deputies.
