Fake Gun Incident Forces Waukegan School on Lockdown

Today, Monday, Dec. 12, at approximately 11:30 a.m.,  the Waukegan Police Department received an anonymous phone call stating that someone had entered Miguel Juarez Middle School with a gun.

Officers from the police department’s Patrol Division and Criminal Investigations Division responded and checked the school located at 201 N. Butrick Street in Waukegan.

As is standard to these types of calls, the District 60 school was placed on lock down, per school authorities.
