Lake County Sheriff Mark Curran will preside at the annual Christmas program at the Lake Community-Based Corrections Center at 15 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue in Waukegan at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 17.
The program, sponsored by Mary’s Mission & Shelter Care, will begin with a parade from Mary’s mission at 642 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue to the center. Highlight of the program will be a toy and food give-away to the needy.
“We appreciate Dr. Lacey’s commitment to assisting the incarcerated and their families. For many of these children, the donated gifts are their sole Christmas presents,” said Sheriff Curran.
Dr. Mary Lacey, founder of the Mary’s Mission & Shelter care, organizes the event each year to benefit families of the incarcerated.
