Police Seek Waukegan Man on First Degree Murder Warrant

Waukegan Police are searching for Willie C. Jackson, 18, whom they have a first degree murder warrant for.

According to Waukegan Police Cmdr. Joe Florip, authorities obtained the arrest warrant on Nov. 14, and have been actively seeking his whereabouts since.

On Nov. 11 police responded to a call about a shooting in Waukegan, in which Dayviontay T. Jackson, 17, had been found dead in  the stairwell of a residence in the 400 block of McKinley Avenue.

A weapon was recovered the night of the fatal shooting, and police believe Willie Jackson may have been involved.

The wanted Jackson had been residing in the 400 block of 10th Street in Waukegan, but has since fled. It is believed that the suspect is currently somewhere in the greater Chicago area.

A charge of first degree murder carries a bond of $3 million.

Jackson is considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information on Jackson’s whereabouts is asked to call the Waukegan Police Department’s “Tip-Line” at 847-360-9001.  If anyone sees the suspect they are asked to immediately call 911.

Police would like to remind people that suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
