Sex Offender Arrested in Waukegan Basement by LCSO, U.S. Marshals

Yesterday the Lake County Sheriff’s Warrants Team working with the U.S. Marshals Service – Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested a Round Lake man, charging that he violated the sex offender registration act — a class 3 felony.

Sean M. Dowd, 23, of the 100 block of Nasa Circle was wanted on a $250,000 arrest warrant for violating the sex offender registration act as well as a warrant for failure to appear in court for aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

Authorities had been looking for Dowd since last October.

Suspect was in a basement of Waukegan home when arrested by LCSO and U.S. Marshal’s

On Jan. 10 LCSO and the U.S. Marshals Service received information Dowd was in the 500 block of Archer Avenue in Waukegan. They located him in the basement of the home. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Lake County Jail.

Lake County Sheriff Mark Curran reminds the public the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
