“Singin’ in the Rain,” an American musical classic starring Gene Kelly, will be shown at 7 p.m., Feb. 24, at the John & Nancy Hughes Theater in the Gorton Community Center in Lake Forest.
The one-night show is part of film classics series offered by Gordon. Tickets are only $5 and are available in advance at http://www.gortoncenter.org/programs/all/singing.
The film is known as one of the greatest and most successful musicals ever filmed. It is filled with memorable songs and Gene Kelly’s fabulous song-and-dance performed in the rain.
“We are actively working to bring you current, time-loved films to the John & Nancy Hughes Theater,” said Jamie Hall, Gorton film director.
On the heels of the recent passing of Debbie Reynolds and with La La Land’s success, theater officials say “it’s a great time” to see Singing in the Rain on the big screen.
Gorton Community Center is a privately-funded, non-profit organization which operates in partnership with volunteers and the City of Lake Forest to enrich the lives of its residents through cultural arts, education and charitable service.
