Highland Park Senior Connector will expand its services, effective Monday, Feb. 27, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
For seniors interested in participating in afternoon activities, the center will provide a handicapped-accessible bus with additional stops at Sherwood Forest, CVS and Brooke Estates. The service is free to Highland Park residents aged 60 and over.
The revamped service will also provide student transportation from specific schools to the Firehouse Youth Center in the afternoon. It will allow the city to eliminate the center van, thereby saving the cost of a replacement van estimated at $45,000.
