An unidentified man was found dead in a garage fire at a home in southeastern Lake Forest Sunday morning.
When Lake Forest Fire and Police Departments responded to the home March 5 shortly before 11:30 a.m. they saw light smoke coming from the garage. The fire was extinguished within three minutes. Police and firefighters then discovered the body of the man.
Authorities said they are investigating the cause of the death and the fire.

There were no other reported injuries. Damage to the garage is estimated to be $1,000.
On Monday Lake County Coroner Dr. Howard Cooper said he will be performing an autopsy Tuesday to find out the cause of death. As for the identification of the deceased: “We think we know who it is, but we are not releasing that information yet, until we are positive,” said Dr. Cooper. “We are working with the police, as this is an active investigation.”
