LCSO to be Enforcing Road Safety for St. Patrick’s Day

“Don’t Drink and Drive”

Lake County Sheriff’s Office advises those celebrating St. Patrick’s Day to “Drive sober or get pulled over!”

The sheriff’s office, warned Sheriff Mark Curran, “will be on patrol this St. Patrick’s Day to ensure the safety of those traveling on the roadways.’

“Don’t drink and drive, and don’t let your friends do it either! Help us make ‘Zero Fatalities a Reality ‘ in Illinois,” he said.

In addition to looking for drunk and drug-impaired drivers, deputies will increase seatbelt enforcement, particularly at night, he stressed.

Undersheriff Ray Rose has added advice: “If you choose to drink, designate a sober, reliable driver to get you home safely from the party.”

“If you’re planning on driving, don’t drink! Your life and the lives of others could depend on it.”
