On Tuesday, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Team working with the U.S. Marshals Service – Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force located and arrested wanted fugitive Fabian Ponce, 23, of the 1300 block of North Park Drive, Round Lake Beach.
Ponce, who is on parole from the Illinois Department of Corrections is a documented street gang member, according to Sgt. Chris Covelli, the sheriff’s spokesperson. The suspect had an active arrest warrant with a bond of $300,000 for failure to appear in court on charges by the Round Lake Beach Police Department of unlawful possession of a controlled substance.
Authorities found Ponce March 7 at a home in the 200 block of East Clarendon Drive, Round Lake Beach. He was taken into custody without incident.
The suspect is being held at the Lake County Jail on $300,000 bond. His next court date is March 14.
