Three people were injured including one critically Thursday afternoon, April 6, in a crash between a car and a semi-truck on Route 120 west of Wilson Road in unincorporated Round Lake.

Preliminary investigation indicates a 1998 For Contour, driven east by a 50-year-old woman from Lake Zurich, somehow drifted into the westbound lane and struck the semi  head-on,  according to Lake County Sheriff’s deputies who rushed to the scene at 2 p.m.

The driver of Ford had to be extricated from her car and transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville in critical condition. A 16-year-old passenger was taken to the same hospital in serious condition.

The truck driver, a 64-year-old man from St. Louis, Mo., who was driving a 2016 Freightliner semi, was taken to Northern Illinois Medical Center in McHenry with minor injuries.
