Gurnee Mills Shoe Fight Suspect Wanted

A man allegedly involved in a March 27 fight at Gurnee Mills shopping center is being sought by Lake County Crime Stoppers and the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Division.

Suspect Salomon Diaz, 19, of Aurora, was charged by Gurnee Police with mob action and aggravated battery in the incident which authorities say involved an escalated argument over a pair of shoes.

Police were called to the scene, and they took several subjects into custody. Besides Diaz, two others were identified by surveillance video, and warrants were issued for those three suspects including:

  • Jeffery Cedeno, 19, of Oswego was charged with mob action and four counts of aggravated battery. His bond amount was set at $100,000.
  • A juvenile, who was to have been referred to juvenile court for his involvement in the incident.

Diaz is described as Hispanic, 5 feet 6 inches tall, and weighing 150 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

There is a potential $1,000 cash reward for information leading to his arrest.
