Grow a Garden for Earth Day at the Adler Center

The David Adler Music and Arts Center celebrates Earth Day on Saturday, April 22 from 10 a.m. to Noon with an Earth Day scavenger hunt through the historic grounds of David Adler’s country home.

Working with the Lake County Master Gardeners of the University of Illinois Extension program, the David Adler Music and Arts Center will also plant new annuals that celebrate the history and vibrancy of the David Adler estate.  Participants can

  • Explore architect David Adler’s Libertyville estate
  • Go on a scavenger hunt
  • Plant flowers
  • Take seedlings home
  • Decorate plant markers
  • Sponsor an annual

 “I’m excited that we get to beautify such an amazing, historic place,” said Jena Mertz, event organizer.

Participation is free and supports both the David Adler Music and Arts Center and Conserve Lake County.

About Earth Day:  Founded in 1970, Earth Day has been celebrated on April 22 each year and marks the anniversary of the birth of the modern environmental movement.  It has since become a global day of activism and service, focusing attention on the environment and climate change.
