Deputies Give Overdosed Crash Victim Naloxone

Lake County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the area of Washington Street and White Oak Lane, in unincorporated Gurnee, April 1 around 2 p.m. for a traffic crash.  When they arrived, deputies found one of the drivers involved in the crash, a 23 year-old man from Sheldon, Illinois, unresponsive.

This is the 11th life saved to opioid overdose by Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies, so far this year.

After finding that the man was suffering an opioid overdose, deputies administered two doses of Naloxone, and the man regained consciousness.  He was transported to a local hospital where he was expected to recover.

There were no injuries as a result of the crash, though the crash remains under investigation and charges are possible.

This is the 11th life saved to opioid overdose by Lake County Sheriff’s Deputies, so far this year.
