If you appreciate excellent live music, you won’t want to miss this amazing opportunity happening in Gurnee Saturday night.
The Full Score Chamber Orchestra will present a Mark Rymer Tribute at 7:30 p.m., April 22, at the auditorium of Village Church, 1319 Hunt Club Road.
Selections include Arutunian Trumpet Concerto, the music of Harry Connick Jr. and many more jazz numbers.
The performance, to be presented with the Mark Rymer Jazz Ensemble, will feature Gregory Strauss, the trumpet player. Selections include Arutunian Trumpet Concerto, the music of Harry Connick Jr. and many more jazz numbers.
Ron Arden, director of the orchestra, promises the performance will be “a wonderful springtime event for the whole family.”
The performance will be in memory of Mark Rymer, a graduate of Zion-Benton Township High School and Northern Illinois University, who had been chosen to be the principal trumpeter for Full Score. Unfortunately, he died a month later on April 25, 2011 at the age of 34. For nine years he taught the band at the high school.
