UPDATE: Waukegan Man Hit and Killed by Jeep Allegedly Driven by Girlfriend

On Tuesday at 1:26 a.m. Kenosha County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian in the 34000 block of 110th Street.

The victim is identified as Brian Engelhart, 38, of  Waukegan.

On arrival deputies located a severely injured man along the south edge of the roadway.  The subject had injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle.  He was transported to a hospital where he died from his injuries.

The deceased is identified as Brian Engelhart, a 38-year-old man from Waukegan.  According to the Sheriff’s office, Englehart was walking near the roadway when he was struck and killed.

The operator of the Jeep involved was on the scene at the time deputies arrived.  The driver was Anna Wright, 29, of Twin Lakes.  She identified herself as the victim’s girlfriend.  She was later taken into custody.

Sgt. Eric Klinkhammer of the Kenosha Sheriff’s Office said Wright remains in custody, and charges are pending. “The investigation is still open,” he said.

Kenosha County Sheriff detectives are conducting the investigation.
